Vietnam visa announcement

As of August 15, 2023, government of Vietnam has opened its E-visa system to citizens of all countries for various travel purposes, from tourism to business ventures. This progressive move allows travelers to obtain E-visas for stays of up to 90 days, offering greater flexibility and convenience. Additionally, the E-visa system is now accepted at 42 international checkpoints, including airports, land ports, and seaports, streamlining entry into Vietnam from multiple locations.

For those with urgent travel needs, expedited E-visa processing options are available within 1 or 2 working days, ensuring readiness for unexpected situations.

*Note: The 90-day validity period starts from the date you declare in the form, not from your actual date of entry.

6. Check carefully the information you provided and, if everything is correct, submit the application. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with your application reference number. The processing time for your E-visa is 1 to 3 working days, depending on the selected processing option.

Once your E-visa is approved, you will receive an email with a link to download the E-visa document. Print this document and present your passport along with your E-visa during boarding and upon arrival.

Keep in mind that during major Vietnamese holidays, such as Tet (Lunar New Year), Reunification Day (April 30th), and National Day (September 2nd), the immigration department will not be operational, and visa processing will be paused. This means that any applications submitted close to these dates will experience delays.

To ensure a smooth and timely process, it is advisable to submit your visa application well in advance of these holidays. Planning ahead can help you avoid any last-minute issues and ensure that your travel plans to Vietnam proceed without any unexpected interruptions.
