Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport Launches New Terminal T3
As of April 19, 2025, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has officially launched Terminal T3, marking a significant step forward in modernizing Vietnam’s air travel infrastructure and improving passenger experience.
What Travelers Should Know:
- From April 19, all Vietnam Airlines flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi operate at Terminal 3.
- Starting April 28, all domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air will depart from Terminal T3. (Note: Flights to Con Dao, Rach Gia, and Ca Mau will continue to operate from Terminal T1)

Pre-Departure Reminders for Passengers
- Check your terminal information carefully—details are printed on your e-ticket and boarding pass
- Use online check-in via the Vietnam Airlines website, mobile app, or airport kiosks to save time to get early update
- Arrive at least 2 hours before departure to allow sufficient time to navigate the new terminal
Terminal Transfers Made Easy
If you're connecting or arriving at a different terminal, free shuttle buses operate between Terminals T1, T2, and T3 every 10–20 minutes. While transfers are generally efficient, travelers should still plan for approximately 20 minutes of travel time between terminals, depending on traffic conditions within the airport grounds.
A Modern Travel Experience at Terminal T3
Terminal T3 offers a more efficient, tech-forward airport experience for domestic travelers, including:
- Smart check-in systems using digital ID and biometric verification
- Faster boarding processes
- Enhanced security and reduced paper waste
