Visa Exemptions (Visa-Free Entry)

Many nationalities do not need a visa for short-term travel to Thailand for tourism: most visitors from the U.S., EU, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and many others can enter visa-free.

  • Typical stay: up to 60 days per entry under the visa-exemption scheme.
  • Option to request an extension of stay once inside Thailand (usually 30 extra days, at a local immigration office).
  • These privileges and eligible countries can vary — always check with your local Thai embassy/consulate before travel.

Visa on Arrival

Travelers from eligible countries can apply for a Visa on Arrival at designated points of entry. This visa is valid for a stay of up to 15 days and is non-extendable.

Tourist Visa

For longer stays, a tourist visa can be applied for in advance through Thai embassies or consulates. This visa usually allows for a stay of up to 60 days, with a possibility of a 30-day extension.

E-Visa

Thailand has introduced an e-visa system for eligible travelers to simplify the application process. For the latest updates, visit the official Thai E-Visa website.

*Important note: Visa requirements may change, so it’s a good idea to verify the latest information on the official Royal Thai Embassy website before your trip.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

Effective 1 May 2026, all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival.

This new digital system streamlines the immigration process, making it faster, easier, and more secure—eliminating the need for paper forms.

Please register within 3 days before your arrival in Thailand: https://tdac.immigration.go.th
