Vietnam Visa Exemption: Visa-Free Countries 2025
Vietnam is a popular travel destination, and many international travelers can enjoy visa-free access to the country for short stays. Citizens from select countries are eligible for visa exemption, which allows for stays ranging from 14 to 90 days, depending on the nationality.
Check out the list of visa-free countries here. If you want to confirm whether your country is eligible, we recommend contacting the Vietnam Immigration Department or Visit Vietnam to confirm if your country is eligible.
Starting in March 2025, Vietnam will extend a new visa exemption program for travelers from Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic. These travelers will be allowed to stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days without a visa, but there is a key condition: the exemption applies only to those traveling under a full tour package organized by Vietnamese tour operators.
Starting August 15, 2025, Vietnam will introduce a new, expanded visa policy. Citizens of 12 European countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland will be able to enter Vietnam without a visa for tourist stays of up to 45 days. The visa exemption will be valid until August 14, 2028, and the previous regulations concerning Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will be replaced by the new program.
