Day 2: A SPIRITUAL MORNING AND THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF LAOS

The day begins with a quiet and meaningful moment – witnessing the traditional morning offering ceremony for monks. Following their vows of simplicity, monks rely on daily offerings from local communities, making this ritual an important part of everyday life in Laos.

Afterwards, you will visit the morning market near the Royal Palace, where you can observe local residents selecting fresh ingredients and everyday products for their families.

Only then will it be time for breakfast and a well-earned start to the day. With new energy, you will climb the 329 steps to the top of Mount Phousi, where views over Luang Prabang and the Mekong River await.

The afternoon brings a change of scenery as you head into nature at Kuang Si Waterfall. You will have the opportunity to relax by the turquoise pools, take a refreshing swim, and visit the nearby bear rescue center along the way.

On the return to town, you will stop at the Ock Pop Tok Living Craft Centre to learn more about traditional Lao textiles, local craftsmanship, and the stories of the women who preserve these skills.

After lunch, you will travel for around four hours to Nong Khiaw, a small riverside town set along the Nam Ou River and surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains.

The evening is a chance to slow down and experience the local way of life. Take a walk through the village, observe everyday routines, and discover the peaceful rhythm of a place far from the pace of the cities.

If time allows, you can climb Pha Som Nang Hill for panoramic views over Nong Khiaw and the surrounding landscape.

The day ends with dinner at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy the flavors of northern Laos.
