    Itinerary

    LET'S START

The Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam is a vast maze of rivers, canals, and islands. It’s home to floating markets, villages surrounded by rice paddies, orchard gardens and friendly people.. In Vietnamese language, Mekong River is called the Nine Dragons River but the whole region has an official name - 'rice bowl' or “rice basket” of Vietnam. It’s because more than half of Vietnam’s rice grows there. Our expedition to Mekong Delta starts in the morning (9:00) and we will pick you up at your hotel in Saigon. After about two-hour drive we reach Ben Tre province – the Vietnamese capital of coconut and one of the most beautiful places in Mekong Delta.

    MORNING ON MEKONG RIVER

All aboard our Mekong River cruise as we set off from the pier. Our first stop of the day takes us to an extraordinary floating fish farm, where popular fish species are bred amidst the Mekong waterways. The feeling of having thousands of fishies swarming around is truly something unforgettable. Next, we'll sail through narrow canals, soaking in the stunning landscapes of the nina palm forest of the region.

A PEEK INTO THE LOCAL LIFE

After the scenic boat ride, we'll get back on foot to walk through the fruit orchards and the peaceful countryside. The short walk will give you sneak peeks into how tropical fruits grow and how local people live. From here, we'll commute by tuk tuk to a coconut candy factory to learn about the versatile use of coconuts. Plus we'll taste several species of exotic fruits grown in the region, such as jackfruit, rambutan, logan, and many more.

Now we'll get on sampan boats (small, oar-powered boats) to go through tiny canals and explore another part of the village. This short excursion will give you a glimpse of the peaceful Vietnam's countryside.

    LUNCH TIME!

For lunch, we will serve you some delicious local specialties like elephant ear fish and fresh water shrimps. After the feast, if you are brave enough, you can try also the legendary durian!

From here, we will set sail back to the pier, giving you some time to admire the majestic of the riverway. After returning to the shore, we'll depart back to Saigon.
