Next, we'll visit the bustling Chinatown. Explore a line-up of goldsmith shops, Chinese medical stores, tea houses, and traditional stalls run by Chinese residents to see how the Chinese culture is embedded in Singapore.
Our next destination is the famous Gardens by the Bay - an essential in every Singapore itinerary. This site is the perfect representation of the Lion City's focus and philosophy - connecting nature and technology. Here, you can explore open areas, walk along the footbridges at a height of 22m connected by the Supertrees and visit the award-winning gardens. The first one is the Flower Dome - an eternal spring garden with plants from Mediterranean climate, Australia, South America and Africa. The second garden is the fabulous Cloud Forest featuring a tropical mountain climate. This marvelous construction features vegetation growing at up to 2000m above sea level, as well as a breathtaking waterfall and paths leading through clouds.
As dusk falls, watch the city come alive as the vertical gardens light up with colors. Get ready to be amazed with the world-famous sound and light show of Garden Rhapsody.
For a better view of the urban jungle of Singapore, we'll head to the Marina Bay Sand Skypark Observation Deck to get a paranomic bird-eye view of the entire city.
Then, we will go on a scenic boat ride along the Singapore River. You'll board a bumboat - a traditional Singaporean cargo craft - to admire the cityscape, from the majestic Central Business District to the modern symbols of Merlion or Esplanade. Along the river you'll also see the classic colonial architecture as well as historical bridges built more than a century ago.
Day 2
On the second day, we will commute around Lion City like a local: with public transport! The MRT (metro) and bus system in Singapore offers great flexibility and convenience for travelers to reach most corners of the city. Along the way, discover deep roots of this city-state's fascinating culture and history.
Start at Cavenagh Bridge and reach Raffles Landing Site where Sir Stamford Raffles is believed to have first set foot in Singapore in 1819. Learn about his life and contributions towards the country's economic development.
Then, we will walk around the heart of Singapore - the Colonial District, and pass the neo-Palladian establishments such as the former Parliament House as well as the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall. Let's also take some photos at the Merlion Statue and enjoy the magnificent view of Marina Bay.
Next, we will take the MRT to Chinatown. Here, you'll find traditional handicrafts that have been passed down for generations such as calligraphy, acupuncture, or medicine. After that, uncover timeless beauty of the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore - Sri Mariamman Temple.
Our next destination is the famous Clarke Quay. Stroll around this historical landmark and absorb the futuristic atmosphere of Singapore's Central Business District.
Around noon, we will have lunch at a hawker center and then take public transport back to the hotel for a short rest.
After that we will visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens -an over 160-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will guide you through the lavish greenery of the Marsh Garden and the Ginger Garden. Learn about the national flower of Singapore at the National Orchid Garden where there is an extensive display of award-winning species and hybrids of orchids.
Finally, depending on your preferences, choose to either tour the 10-acre patch of rainforest and cross the Palm Valley; or just have a stroll along the rainforest to end at the Visitor Center. Upon completing the visit, we will take you to the hotel or to a destination of your choice in the city.
