ITINERARY
Day 1
We will pick you up at your hotel in Saigon at 08:00am. After around two hours, we will reach Ben Tre province - the Vietnamese capital of coconut. Let's board the motorboat and explore the riverscape!
We will take you to the different branches of the Mekong River and pay a visit to a local floating fish farm. Learn about this specific farming model, which is exclusive to the river region, and different Mekong's fish species.
Now, hop on a tuk tuk for a change! Our experienced drivers will take you through the local villages, allowing you to sneak a peek into the locals' lifestyle. Our destination will be a coconut workshop, where we will learn about all things coconuts, from its versatile use in cooking to household goods. Indulge in some delicious coconut candies and a wide array of tropical fruits! We will treat you - depending on the season - to some juicy pomelo, mango, longan, and many more.
Let's get to one of the most beautiful parts of Ben Tre: the coconut water forest. We will explore the endless tiny canals on sampans - the traditional rowing boats. Find out what water coconuts are while admiring the peaceful natural landscape. This is your chance to unwind and reconnect with nature.
After the cruise, we are having lunch at our favorite riverside restaurant. Enjoy the crunchy bites of elephant ear fish, freshwater shrimps, and addictive fried spring rolls. If you're brave enough, have a bite of the legendary durian - the Fruit King!
After lunch, we will take another tuk tuk ride to Brother Sy's homestay. Here, you can rejuvenate and freshen up, preparing for an exciting evening activity.
Around 06:30pm, the culinary journey continues as we delve into the art of crafting traditional Vietnamese pancakes with the guidance of Brother Sy's aunt and cousin. Then we will enjoy our meal in the midst of the enchanting open space filled with local plants.
Did we mention the homestay creates the perfect environment for relaxation? There are plenty of hammocks where you can take naps and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The tranquil atmosphere also provides the ideal set-up for meditation sessions. Enjoy your night in the wooden house with the sounds of frogs and crickets lulling you to sleep.
Day 2
Enjoy a countryside breakfast and seize some leisure time to explore the charming neighborhood. Should the time allow, you might opt for a bike ride around the village to see the locals and their ways. Around 10:00am, we will check out from the lovely retreat and make our way back to Saigon.
En route back, our adventure takes an interesting turn as we visit a local chocolate factory. Here, you will learn about the entire production procedure, from cocoa bean processing to delivering the final product.
And to add a flavorful finale, you will stop by a local restaurant to try out hu tieu noodles - a famous broth dish of the region. After the meal, we will continue our journey to Saigon, where our adventure ends.
